Space Madness

The cosmonaut opened his eyes to the glowing room and whispered, “How long?”

Instead of telling him how many decades had passed in cryogenic darkness the computer said, “June is here this morning, and the sun is shining hot.

Of his worries before launch, it had never been a fear that the computer would suffer space madness before he woke.

“What year is it?” he asked, trying for a more direct approach.

A siren alarmed with orange lights.

“You’ve said the magic word!”

He decided to go back into cryo before the computer dumped green pudding over his head, or something.

The fun part was fining a way to get it from its origional 148 words down to 100 or fewer.
